MIDIS is a series of wireless midi controllers that turn the human touch and drawings into music. There is wob, wiggle, drum, pads and scan. Taking the simple movements or lines of its users as a starting point, they control, modulate, loop and distort any sound – be it on stage, in the studio or at home. This new and intuitive way of producing music will most certainly strike a chord with self-taught musicians.

MIDIS were funded thanks to a successful crowdfunding campaign on Kickstarter.

The company

Shut the door, he'll crawl in through the window. Pieter Jan Pieters, the founder of OWOW, couldn't get into music school because he couldn't read notes. So instead of learning notes, he chose to design musical instruments that would translate human gestures and drawings into music. OWOW, the Omnipresent World Of Wizkids, develops wireless midi controllers and other music and lifestyle related products and projects. Some objects, like this flexible silicon tube that was designed to literally bend sounds, sometimes end up being shelved until a more appropriate venture is launched to market them.
